Geoff Petrie (born April 17, 1948 in Darby, Pennsylvania) is the Sacramento Kings President of Basketball Operations (as of 2005) and a former NBA basketball player for the Portland Trail Blazers. At 6'4 he could play either guard or forward positions and was a deadly long range shooter in an era devoid of the three-point line. He played in two All-Star games and was Co-Rookie of the Year in 1971. As an executive he has won the NBA Executive of the Year Award twice with the Sacramento Kings. Petrie, the nephew of Princeton and NBA star Geoff Petrie, is honing his skills at Hun before he joins the Tiger hoops program next season.
Petrie went on to enjoy an outstanding career in the National Basketball Association, being named Co-Rookie of the Year with Dave Cowens and averaging 21.8 points a game during his six-year stint with the Portland Trail Blazers.
Now Petrie's nephew, Chris Petrie, is poised to make an impact on the Princeton hoops scene as he hones his skills on the Hun School squad as a post-graduate, having already committed to play with the Tigers next season.
