Georg Brandt (b. Skinnskatteberg parish, Västmanland County June 26, 1694; d. Stockholm April 29, 1768) was a Swedish chemist and mineralogist who discovered Cobalt in 1737 while trying to prove that bismuth is not the only element that can be used to color glass blue.
