George Amabile’s first volume of poetry, Blood Ties, was published in 1972.
One measure of Amabile’s success is the appearance, some 30 years later, of his eighth volume of poetry: Tasting the Dark: New and Selected Poems.
George Amabile has ended up back at the occasionally heightened poetry he seems to have sought to "go beyond" after his first collection.
