George Edwardes (d. 1915) was an English actor/manager who specialized in musical comedy. He worked first at Daly's Theatre in London, then the Gaiety Theatre. He raised the musical comedy above the level of simple burlesque by creating a series of shows featuring his beautiful, dancing Gaiety Girls. Although he never acted in his productions, he controlled every other aspect of them.
