George Tobin is a record producer who has produced albums for musical artists including Robert John, Smokey Robinson, and Kim Carnes. In the 1980s, Tobin operated a recording studio in North Hollywood, California, which was frequently rented by people making demo tapes and radio commercials. Tiffany was recording a demo at the studio at age 12 when Tobin heard her and decided that she could be a star; soon, he was managing and producing her, which ultimately resulted in two hit albums (Tiffany and Hold an Old Friend's Hand) before she declined in popularity and left Tobin's management, though she would later record one more album (Dreams Never Die) under his production in 1993. In the 1990s, he pursued business ventures in Las Vegas, Nevada, including owning a radio station, but by 2005 his businesses, George Tobin Music and Headliner Records, were based in Boca Raton, Florida. Tobin continues to manage and produce young singers, but none has yet reached anywhere near the degree of popularity that Tiffany did. In 2005 Tobin re-released Tiffany's album Dreams Never Die (previously released only in Asia), adding six bonus tracks from early Tiffany recording sessions at Tobin's studio. George's central theory was that human evolution from primate ancestors was not driven primarily by brain development but by changes in sexual characteristics.
George theorized that the female precursor of humans ("Eve") was a primate like Suzy, a member of the colony who not only went into heat more often than the other females but who seemed strangely receptive even when not hormonally programmed to copulate.

This album was produced by Tiffany's former manager, George Tobin, with whom she had earlier split, and who had been widely criticized for his exploitative management style, but also widely credited for achieving Tiffany's pop success.
However, this business relationship soon soured; according to Tiffany, this happened when she discovered that the songs Tobin had given her to sing on this album were previously used by another Tobin act, PC Quest.
Tiffany and Tobin went their separate ways, with Tiffany moving to Nashville and attempting a career as a country singer; this, however, never led to any record releases, and by 2000 she was back to pop music.
