Career and Influence

George Tutunjian was born in Haleb. He was the original leading patriotic/revolutionary singer of all time, performing for over 50 years. Other great patriotic singers such as Karnig Sarkissian, Harout Pamboukjian, Nersik Ispirian have looked up to George Tuntunjian as an inspiration. Being one of the earliest patriotic singers, he helped accelerate the careers of such singers as Harout and Karnig, the latter being a protege of George. He was also known as a staunch supporter of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation. He held worldwide concerts in Beirut, Boston, Damascus, Los Angeles, Montreal among other places.
