The Fourth Congressional District of the U.S. State of Georgia was created in 1996 following the Supreme Court decision Miller v. Johnson. The District includes parts of DeKalb and Gwinnett Counties in the metro Atlanta area. The District is currently represented by Cynthia McKinney. The district strongly favors the Democratic Party. The map at right is the 4th District as it was drawn from 2002 until 2005. A map of the current 4th Congressional District, in effect for the 2006 Elections, can be seen here. The reapportionment removed parts of DeKalb County from the District, and added substantial portions of Gwinnett and Rockdale Counties.
