The abazi was the currency of Georgia until 1833. It was subdivided into 40 puli, each of 5 dinar. It was replaced by the Russian ruble at a rate of 2½ abazi = 1 ruble. The ruble or rouble (Russian рубль, plural рубля (for numbers ending in 2, 3 or 4) or рублей; see note on spelling below) is the name of the currencies of the Russian Federation and Belarus (and formerly, of the Soviet Union and the Russian Empire). ...
