Brief biography

At 16 years of age Clive Powell (Georgie Fame) entered into a management agreement with Larry Parnes who gave artists new names such as Marty Wilde and Billy Fury. Georgie Fame was already playing piano for Billy Fury in a backing band called the Blue Flames which later became billed as Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames. The band had some success with its R&B but they became also became known in the USA when their single recording of the Ballad of Bonnie & Clyde was released. Marty Wilde (b. ... Georgie Fame continued playing into the 70s, having hits with Alan Price (ex keyboards player of The Animals). He has also toured as one of the Rhythm Kings with his friend Bill Wyman playing bass.
