Gerald Bermingham (born 20 August1940) is a British politician, and was Labour member of Parliament for St Helens South, until he stood down 2001. He stood down just in time for Shaun Woodward, a defector from the Conservatives, who was looking for a safe Labour seat, to take it.
These jurors found that Gerald, 11th Earl, held the manor of Geashill, which descended in succession to Gerald, the 14th Earl, and that the latter died on the 11th February, 1612, leaving a son and heir named Gerald (15th Earl), who was only seven weeks old at the time of his father's death.
The result of this petition is not known; GeraldBermingham, at any rate, unless he received a pardon, does not appear to have suffered, as his death took place on the 1st December, 1636, and he was succeeded at Grange by his son Edward.
This GeraldBermingham was of Grange (of the House of Carrick) in the County Kildare.
Gerald was officer to Arnulf De Montgomery and a great favorite of Henry I, from whom he received Moulsford in Berkshire.
Notes: at the death of her brother in 1175, her son Gerald was unanimously elected Bishop of St. David's by the Welsh and English canons of the diocese.
Notes: in 1582 Gerald's estates were placed under sequestration and father and son were imprisoned in the tower of London and released in Jun 1583.
