Bodine left for Fiddleback Racing in 2005, and was replaced by Chad Chaffin. The team also added a second truck to its stable, the #9 AISIN Toyota driven by rookie Shigeaki Hattori. Chaffin had three top-tens and was sixteenth in the points, when he was replaced by Bodine after Fiddleback closed its doors. Bodine won in just his second race back at Kansas Speedway. After picking up another win later in the year at the Las Vegas 350, Bodine won the last three races of the season, giving the #30 a third-place points finish.
