GermannaCommunityCollege takes its name from a group of settlers at Germanna Ford on the Rapidan River, where in 1714, Governor Alexander Spotswood established a frontier fort and settlement for the German miners and their families.
GCC is a member of the Virginia CommunityCollege System and offers two-year degrees for transfer to four year colleges as well as two-year technical degrees and certificate programs.
