Linn ssynec Rocr Dreuc Haïder Ghintec (also known as Jinto) is a major character and the main narrator of the novels Seikai no Monshou (also known as Crest of the Stars) I, II, and III, and Seikai no Senki I, II, III and IV--all written by Morioka Hiroyuki. He is also the main male protagonist of the anime series based on the novels. Background

Born Jint Lynn on planet Martine (spelt as Martinh in Baronh) of the Hyde star system (Haïdec in Baronh), he was the son of Rock Lynn, a politician who eventually became president of the Hyde star system. It was during his administration that the Abh empire was able to annex the Hyde stellar system into its territory through an invasion. Making his own ideas more valuable than the rights of the people of Martine, Rock Lin made a deal with the leaders of the invading forces that the territorial lord of Hyde shall be chosen amongst the people of Martine. The leader of the invading forces agreed to this however this meant that an election cannot be held making Rock, as the current leader of Martine, the natural choice to become its territorial lord. Because of this, Rock Lynn, and with him, Jinto, rose to the ranks of Abh nobility as Count of Haïdec. The Ath Alphabet, used to write Baronh Baronh is an artificial language created by Japanese science fiction author Morioka Hiroyuki and used in Crest of the Stars and Banner of the Stars. ... A star system or stellar system is a group of stars (and possibly smaller bodies such as planets or asteroids) that orbit one another (a system with planetary bodies orbiting stars, are referred to as solar systems or planetary systems). ... His name now spelt in its Baronh form as Ghintec instead of Jint, Ghintec was sent to Planet Delct of the County of Bhorach to learn Baronh and Abh culture from Imperial citizens. Approximately seven years later, in Abh reckoning, he was leaving Bhorach for a military college in Lacmhacarh, the capital of the Empire, to continue his education. It was on his leaving Delct that he was able to meet Lamhirh, granddaughter of the Abh spunej (empress) Ramaj, who was then a flyer trainee of the Imperial Space Navy. Ghintec's full name can be rendered in English as "Ghintec (ssynec Rocr) Linn, Count (Dreuc) of Haïdec". Before his father's death (and his inheriting of his title and fiefdom) Ghintec's full name was Linn ssynec Rocr Ïarlucec Dreuc Haïder Ghintec. The term Ïarlucec indicated that he is an heir to a title and fiefdom.

When Ghintec was a young boy, his father, Rock Lynn, under threat of invasion, handed over their world, Martine, to the Abh in exchange for a position within Abh society.
Young Ghintec is sent off to school to learn the ways of Abh nobility and the story of Crest of the Stars picks up as he meets the young Abh princess, Lamhirh (aka Lafiel) as they are about to travel to military school for Ghintec's further training.
However, in the midst of their travels, Lamhirh and Ghintec (along with the Abh ship Gothlauth, aka Goliath) find themselves at the very beginnings of a war between the Abh Empire and the nations of humankind.
