Hossein Mohyeddin Elahi Ghomshei (persian حسین محی الدین الهی قمشه ای ), is an Iranian world renowned scholar, author and lecturer on Persian literature and Islamic mysticism. He is famous for his literal versatility, his in-depth understanding of his topic and his phenomenal power of memory. His ability to bring together both eastern and western literatures and mysticism is the reason behind his enchanting lectures and official seminars around the world. Because of his charming manner he is popular with people of all ages. In 1998-1999, for example, he was chosen as Iran’s favorite TV character among all categories in Iran, with a more than 86 percent popularity rating with viewers. Elahi ghomshei is the fourth son of Ayatollah Mehdi Mohyeddin Elahi Ghomshei, the well-known translator of the Holy Quran into Persian language, was born in January 1940 in Tehran, Iran. He stuied his primary, high and academic school in Danesh, Marvi schools, and the University of Tehran, respectively. He received his PhD. from the University of Tehran on the Islamic Theology and philosophy under the thesis on Avicenna's philosophy.
