Ghost nets are fishing nets that have been lost by fishermen. These nets are left to roam the oceans of Earth entangling sea life and creating much havoc on Earth's oceanic ecosystem. A vast array of sealife are harmed by these lost nets. These nets unintentionally harm both vertebrates and invertabrates alike, as well as many different species of marine mammals. Most fisherman agree that ghost nets are harmful to the enviroment, but they do little to help correct this problem. This problem is growing everyday rather than decreasing. Because of current and weather patterns they tend to group together and serve as an synthetic Cloud of death. Since the composition of most of these nets is synthetic they are not considered to be biodegradable.
