Ghosts 'n Goblins is a 1985 arcade game by Capcom. In this platform game the player controls a knight who must defeat zombies, demons and other undead in order to rescue a princess.


The arcade game Ghouls 'n Ghosts is a sequel to Ghosts 'n Goblins.

Ghosts 'n Goblins (魔界村 Makai mura, or "Demon World Village," in Japan) is a classic arcade game by Capcom.
Released in 1985, it was followed by one sequel, Ghouls 'n Ghosts, and was ported to numerous home computer platforms.
Ghosts 'n Goblins was also ported to the Sinclair ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC 464, Nintendo Game Boy Color and the NES.

Beyond the graveyard is a dark forest brimming with tube-shaped ghosts that rain a hail of green onion spears on Arthur's head (green onion is surprisingly lethal in Demon World).
The incredible challenge of Ghosts'n Goblins, coupled with the fact that the game must be beaten twice to be completed once, probably led many players to conclude that the game was literally from Hell.
Ghouls'n Ghosts was ported to the Sega Genesis and NEC SuperGrafx, and a heavily revamped version, called Super Ghouls'n Ghosts, made it to the Super NES.
