Giants: Citizen Kabuto was developed by Planet Moon and released by Interplay in 2000 on the PC after many delays. The game was praised for its state of the art graphics, humorous story, and innovative genre blending gameplay. The game mixed elements from third person shooters, real time strategy and action. The game was also criticized for its various game crashing bugs, bad netcode, bad framerates (even though today's computers could play the game exceptionally well), lack of mouse speed changer, and lack of in game saves. Still, the reviews for the game were generally positive despite these bugs. Some patches were released to fix many of the bugs in this game, but the bugs still hurt the games financially. This game quickly made its way to the bargain bin, and the multiplayer mode never attracted a large fan base. Giants was later released for the Macintosh and PlayStation 2.
