Demographics As of the census2 of 2000, there are 229 people, 103 households, and 55 families residing in the town. The population density is 353.7/km² (915.0/mi²). There are 118 housing units at an average density of 182.2/km² (471.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 94.32% White, 3.93% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.44% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 1.31% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 103 households out of which 26.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 36.9% are married couples living together, 13.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 46.6% are non-families. 40.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 23.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
