In the northeast corner of Spain, next to the border with France, the Catalonian province of Girona encompasses a rugged and beautiful stretch of the Costa Brava, the inland plains of the Emporadà and the western section of the Pyrenean mountain range.
Girona’s climate is relatively mild in the winter, when the average temperature only drops as low as 10ºC. In the summer, Girona basks in an average of 25ºC by the coast.
In the middle of Girona province on the fertile plain surrounding Banyoles lake, El Pla de l’Estany is a small area of natural beauty.
