The Global Pagoda is a monument being built near the city of Mumbai, India. The plan is to make a Vipassana centre within the Pagoda. This pagoda will serve a very important functional value as the stupendous stone dome of the Global Pagoda is also envisaged to be the world's largest meditation hall. The Global Pagoda, that will be 100 metres high when fully complete and expected to draw hundreds of thousands of visitors annually, is being built combining ancient Indian and modern technology to enable it to last for atleast a 2000 years.
