The Globalisation Institute is a free-market international development think tank founded in London in 2005 and much favoured by Conservative Party (UK) leader David Cameron. Name change The institute was called "Globalization Institute" when it was founded, because, as explained on the site: "Globalization is a more international spelling of the word, and we have an international audience. [...] Besides, the Oxford English Dictionary – the leading authority on British English spelling – prefers globalization to globalisation." However, the institute later adopted the -ise spelling, apparently due to criticism by British readers.
