Based in Rome, Italy, the Glocal Forum aims to balance the global with the local by strengthening inter-city relations and harnessing global opportunities for the economic, social and cultural interests of the local community. In 2001, amidst contentious demonstrations against the negative effects of globalization, the Glocal Forum began its mission to spread the glocalization message: local solutions to global issues better fit the needs of our world’s citizens. In three years’ time, the Glocal Forum’s city-to-city diplomacy is already recognized among leading public institutions, private companies, and municipalities as a viable and worthy approach towards creating enduring peace around the world.
