Another disappointing case of a hugely innovative album being looked over by the mainstream, sludge-metal trio the Melvins' second effort Gluey Porch Treatments was, and is, unlike anything else ever released by any other band.
Therefore, Gluey Porch Treatments stands alone as one of the essential metal albums of the 80's, even against such heavy-hitters as Metallica and Megadeth.

Gluey Porch Treaments is Ozma's predecessor from 1987 and you can tell by the intensity of "Eye Flys" that this is not a sane rock and roll disc.
Two years after the incredibly original revelation, Gluey Porch Treatments, the Melvins came up with a similar album, Ozma, in that it mixes grunge, metal and punk in the same unique way, while still cranking out some of the best riffs of all time.
