The main problem that I had with finding builders that were actually worthwhile for a godwarsmud was that most of the people that I would have considered for the job were more interested in a mud where it wasn't all hack-n-slash style.
The fact that most players on godwarsmuds are more interested in maxing out their character than actually taking the time to read room descs and mob descsis a big turn-off to quite a lot of builders.
Meaning that if you're going to be attractig the typical, run-of-the-mill 11 year old godwars junkie, your areas really aren't going to matter all that much to them.
As mentioned earlier, Medievia was originally designed using the MercMUD engine, which was itself a derivative of Dikumud.
Critics such as Richard Woolcock (known as KaVir on the Internet), the author of the GodWars codebase, and Michael Seifert, one of the original Diku codebase authors, claim that it still is a Diku derivative.
This is a controversial claim as Medievia accepts money from donations or, more accurately, sells in-game items for money, either of which would be a violation of the Diku and Merc licenses.
