Golf class is a type of car named after the VW Golf. It's usually a compact like a supermini car or a city car, 3-door hatchback, often powered by a transversley mounted inline-4 engine with a volume of 1100 or 1600 cc driving the front wheels. Due to convergent evolution they tend to look very simmilar. During the 1980s they weere generally very boxy to maximise interior space, but during the 1990s they sometimes got more rounded shapes.
