Goo Lagoon is where most of the Bikini Bottom citizens hang out. Activities at Goo Lagoon include surfing, volleyball, and tanning. When compared to the Sand Mountain ski resort, Goo Lagoon is its summer counterpart. Sand Mountain is a popular underwater ski resort in the fictional city of Bikini Bottom. ...


A well-known lifeguard and beach buff is Larry the Lobster, one of the strongest creatures in Bikini Bottom (along with Sandy Cheeks) who impresses the ladies well. He is just one of the many lifeguards and beach buffs that work and hang out at Goo Lagoon. Larry Lobster is the lifeguard of Goo Lagoon in the animated TV series, SpongeBob SquarePants. ... The beach is home to the Anchor Toss Competition, a weightlifting competition, a surfing competition, and a sand castle competition in which Larry and Sandy usually compete in. SpongeBob once entered the weightlifting competition. SpongeBob also took part in the Anchor Toss Competition after he bought inflated muscles to show off. Sandy, however, signed his name on for the competition and SpongeBob's secret was soon exposed once his inflatable muscles burst. Sandy eventually won the anchor toss competition.


In the SpongeBob SquarePants: Employee of the Month computer game, the beach is also a tanning salon run by a fish named Ray. There is also a workout area for all the beach buffs who hang out at the beach and The Flying Dutchman's buried treasure is also on the beach.


There is a huge boat parking area out at the front of Goo Lagoon and in SpongeBob SquarePants: Revenge of the Flying Dutchman, there is also a bus stop.
