Goodlettsville is a city located in Tennessee. Goodlettsville was incorporated as a city in 1958 with a population of just over 3,000 residents. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 13,780. Part of Goodlettsville is in Davidson County, Tennessee and the balance of it is in Sumner County, Tennessee. Goodlettsville chose to remain autonomuous when, in 1963, the City of Nashville merged with the government of Davidson County. Therefore, Goodlettsville is only governed by the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County in a limited manner.
