The show was originally created (and written) by Hayden Black in March 2006 and initially cast with members of an Upright Citizen's Brigade improv class he was taking. The show quickly took a life of its own, and by 2006's end had become one of the Top 25 podcasts in the world. Black also plays the role of egotistical British co-anchor Gordon Winston-Smythe. His original co-anchor, Jamie Denbo, left when she landed a role on the Fox sitcom "Happy Hour". She was recast with Shulie Cowen (Reno 911) starting with Episode 13.
