Gordon is the minister responsible for the "ActNow B.C." portfolio which focuses on changing the attitude of todays society, particularly towards the type of lifestyle young people choose.
As we entered the office of GordonHogg, one's first impression was one of warmth, openness, and humor.
Over the years Gordon has held numerous posts with the government and his experience, incite, and passion for young people became obvious as we talked about the program and the current situation regarding the lack of activity in todays society, not only among young people, but with adults also.
Hogg was on the defensive at the June 25th staged cabinet meeting where he slagged Province columnist Michael Smyth for exposing planned cuts to his ministry.
Hogg outlined approximately $70 million in cuts that will be made in order to bring his budget in line with a revised service plan.
Hogg told the staged cabinet meeting that approximately 65% of children that are apprehended and put in the Ministry's care come from single parents on welfare.
