Gorgopotamos is a village that worth a visit for the large history that it has for its rail bridge that you will find just outside the village.
Here the Greek resistance blow up the large bridge that connects two large slopes of the mount Iti on 24th November 1942 and delay the Germans to reach North Africa where the Allies were pressed by the Germans.
Gorgopotamos is only 7 km from Lamia and it has taken its name from the river that rolls right next to the village.
