Daimon, being a large boy, took advantage of his large physique to began learning Judo, a close-contact style, based on throws. Building up his body and creating his own moveset, Daimon quickly rose to be the top of the Judo world. He became the Japanese champion in no time, and shortly after, conquered the world championship. After several winning streaks, Daimon retired and hid in seclusion in the mountains of Japan, seeking more enlightenment, since he felt restricted to the Judo world, and liked to prove himself against other fighters of other styles. His chance came soon enough with the national martial arts tournament to decide the three fighters that would represent Japan in the new King of Fighters tournament. Daimon always seems to have a very serious expression, and grunts a lot. However, he has a very warm heart, as he always takes his time to co-exist with nature and encounter himself there. He also likes to teach youngsters about Judo in his free time. He also takes his time to serve as an advisor and as a mediator between Kyo and Benimaru.

Trivia

  • In "The King of Fighters '94", Daimon's favorite food was a chocolate sundae, a food which was not agreeable to his image.
  • Daimon appears as an unlockable Striker in the Dreamcast version of KOF 99.
  • In the majority of his KOF appearances, although not his most recent (KOF '03), Daimon possessed a chain-throw DM move. What made his technique strange was that, unlike other character's chain moves, Daimon would do a "super flash" for each portion of the chain, although only the first part would cost super meter.
  • Daimon has possessed the single most damaging non-boss move in the entire KOF series. His Windy Forest Volcano HDM from King of Fighters '02 deals around 80% of the opponents health, pretty much guaranteeing a victory if it should connect. The downside to this move is that the first (trigger) hit is his Minelayer special move, which is entirely avoidable if an opponent is in the air.
  • Daimon makes a cameo appearance in the background of Capcom vs SNK and Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001 if Kyo Kusanagi is fighting against Benimaru Nikaido. This is a homage to earlier King of Fighters games where your other partners are seen watching the match as you fight.
  • Daimon is the only character in all the KOF series who never had a move which damages the guard of the opponents.
