Encyclopedia > Graham Jones

A madman who is the antagonist for Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow. He was born on the same day that Julius Belmont and his friends successfully defeated Dracula and sealed both him and his castle into a solar eclipse. Because of this, Graham has had an obsessive fascination with Dracula, and particularly a prophecy that stated that in 2035, someone would enter Dracula's castle when it reappeared during the first solar eclipse of the 21st Century and acquire all of Dracula's power. As he was born on the same day Dracula was sealed, Graham fully believed that HE was the one destined to fulfill this prophecy, and subsequently formed his own cult based around this belief. When Dracula's castle did in fact reappear, Graham had already entered it and was busy absorbing its power when Soma Cruz became trapped inside its walls. At first, Graham dismissed the latent power he sensed inside Soma, believing the child to be harmless, but once he discovered Soma's power to rival his own, he grew infuriated and attempted to murder Soma, accusing him of 'grand theft' for his acquisition of 'his' monsters' souls as justification. After a short battle Graham uses the power he absorbed from the castle to mutate himaself into a large and more powerful monster that Soma has to defeat. Unfortunately for Graham, he was easilly defeated by Soma, who realized that it was he, not Graham, who the prophecy was talking about. Soma was the true reincarnation of Dracula, a fact Graham curses as his final words. Graham died and the power he had accquired taken from him when Soma defeated him.
