Professor Graham Oppy (born October 6, 1960 ) is an Australian philosopher and Associate Dean of Research at Monash University. His main area of research is the philosophy of religion. He is Associate Editor of the Australasian Journal of Philosophy, and serves on the editorial boards of Philo, Philosopher's Compass, Religious Studies, and Sophia. It has been suggested that Contemporary philosophy be merged into this article or section. ... Biography

Graham Oppy was born in Benalla in 1960 to a methodist family, but he ceased to be a religious believer as a young teenager. His family moved to Ballarat in 1965, and were still living there when he started to attend Melbourne University in 1979, where he completed two degrees: a BA in philosophy and a B.Sc in mathematics. In 1987 he started graduate work at Princeton University under the supervision of Gilbert Harman on questions in the philosophy of language.[1] BesMella is also known as Benalla or Benalta but is mailly known as a QuakeWorld community which began in Benalla. ... He was a lecturer at the University of Wollongong from 1990-1992 and after doing a post-doc at the Australian National University, he came to Monash as a senior lecturer, and was promoted to Professor in 2005.
