Grand Turk (frigate) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (345 words)
The Grand Turk is a replica of a three-masted 6th rate frigate, well known as the HMS Indefatigable from the TV series Hornblower, although the historical Indefatigable was a much bigger ship.
The Grand Turk was built in Marmaris, Turkey in 1996 for the price of £2 million.
She is an authentic replica, based on historical drawings, of the frigate HMS Blandford built in 1741.

The Turks and Caicos Islands has a total of 193 square mile of land on 8 islands and 40 small cays, the population is approximately 18,000.
Grand Turk, seven miles long and just over one mile wide, with quiet beaches surrounding the island forms together with Salt Cay the Turks Group, separated by the 22 mile wide Columbus Passage from the Caicos Group to the west.
Grand Turk is and has been the political capital of the Turks and Caicos Islands for over 400 years, Bermudian colonial architecture is still in evidence.
