Encyclopedia > Greater Nottingham

Greater Nottingham is the surrounding conurbation of the city of Nottingham. The area has a population of around 640,000. It includes the Nottinghamshire borough of Rushcliffe, Broxtowe, Gedling and the town of Hucknall in Ashfield. It also stretches into Leicestershire and Derbyshire, and is sometimes considered to include the mid-Nottinghamshire town of Mansfield.
