Greatest Hits: My Prerogative is Britney Spears' compilation album released November 9, 2004. It includes most of Britney's hit singles, from "Toxic" to "Baby One More Time". Also included are two new songs, "My Prerogative" and "Do Somethin'", and a previously unreleased song called "I've Just Begun (Having My Fun)". Britney is still considering which single will follow "My Prerogative".

Britney released the fifth album sooner rather than later to fulfill her five-album contract with Jive Records. During the 2004 Billboard Awards in Las Vegas, Britney re-signed with Jive Records.

The album was beaten to the #1 position in the UK by Eminem's Encore, which was released in the middle of the week (whereas Britney's album had a whole week of sales to count), but he still had enough sales to overtake her album. This was Britney's first album not to debut at #1.
