Greece Interstate 91 (GR-91) is a highway running through the Mesogeian Plain and the southwestern part of the Petalies Gulf and begins in Glyka Nera with the Mesogeios and Marathonos Avenues (GR-54) south to Cape Sounio. The highway has several bypasses and between Koropi and Markopoulo Mesogeias is bypassed since March 2001 with the Attiki Odos (number 6), other bypasses includes Markopoulo, Kalyvia Thorikou and Keratea. Lavrio is not bypasses because the population is low in the Cape Sounio area. The highway since the 1980s is four laned from Glyka Nera to Lavrio and are divided southward from the southernmost interchange of the Attiki Odos. The two lanes are south of Lavrio ending at Cape Sounio and forming a junction with GR-89. Since 2001, it is not the main road north of Koropi. History

The highway was first numbered in the 1950s. Construction of additional two lanes began in the 1970s from Glyka Nera to Koropi and had no bypasses. In the 1980s, the two lanes extended south to Lavrio and began bypassing Koropi, Markopoulo, Kalyvia Thorikou and Keratea. It took several years to complete, another section continued in the 1990s and partially runs over an abandoned railway. In 1996, the Attiki Odos began construction and the curve was construction west of the Attiki Odos and later, an interchange was also constructed in 2000.
