The GreenMountains are a mountain range in the U.S. state of Vermont.
The GreenMountains are traversed by the Long Trail, a wilderness hiking trail (with short stretches of road) that meets with the Appalachian Trail in the southern part of the state.
The University of the GreenMountain (in Latin, Universitas Viridis Montis)–the original name of the University of Vermont–were named after the mountains; the initialism "UVM" is still used to refer to the university.
