Green water is often referred to as "pea soup".
Green water is nothing more then single celled planktonic organisms that thrive on high dissolved organic matter and nutrients, often indicated by elevated nitrate levels.
Green water causing algae are referred to as phytoplankton (microscopic plants/animals) that photosynthesize.

You have heard many reasons why your water turns green and tried assorted mechanical wizardry and various chemical concoctions to clear it, (which may or may not have been harmful to your Koi), but it is still green.
Green water is caused by an excessively large number of tiny organisms in the water.
The presence of this antibiotic in the water causes other algae cells to die, the heterotroph bacterial colony increases in size as more "food" becomes available, and as more antibiotic is produced, more algae dies.
