Farshtey is the author of 18 published BIONICLE books, four published EXO-FORCE books, and a small number of Bionicle guidebooks. Prior to beginning work on this series, he had three published novels: The River of God (1992), Hell's Feast (1994) and Demon's Dream (1996), as well as two textbooks for children.
