Grignolino is a purple grape variety commonly grown in the Piedmont region of Italy. It makes light red wines and ross with very fruity aroma and strong acid and tannins. It grows best in hotter climates and loose dry soils.

Grignolino wine has many lovers; some of them are famous, such as Giovanni Lanza, Prime Minister during the “National Unity”, who also produced this wine, and King Umberto I, who preferred it rather than other wines on his table.
