Although little known, at least outside Russia, he has become something of a cult figure to classical guitarists - his suite White Nights Serenades (1991) has been declared by some to be the greatest work for guitar since Britten's Nocturnal (1963). Nevertheless, it remains little-played, and awaits a rediscovery in the twenty-first century.

Grigoriy Korchmar (first name also spelt Grigory or Grigori; Cyrillic Григорий Корчмар) (born 1947 in Baltiysk) is a Russian composer and pianist.
