FACTOID #151: The five countries with the highest coffee consumption are also the five countries whose citizens trust one another the most. Coincidence? Probably.
Grindavík is a fishing town at the peninsula of Reykjanes at the south-western coast of Iceland. It is one of the few cities with a harbour at this coast. Most of the 2500 inhabitants are living from the fishing industry.
Some kilometers to the north, there is the so-called Blue Lagoon (is. Bláa Lónið), a swimming pool using hot and mineralized waters from the near-by power station Svartsengi.
Grindavik is located in the southwest of Iceland, only 25 km from KeflavÃk Airport and 4 km from the famous Blue Lagoon health spa
The diversity of the landscape is great, here you will see everything from the tranquility of the valleys with beautiful lakes to the roughness of the lava where the cliffs meet the North Atlantic Ocean.
Grindavik and surroundings have a very lively bird population, especially in the cliffs of KrÃsuvÃk just east of the town.
