The Gudendag was a Flemish medieval weapon. "Gudendag" is flemish for "Good Day". The Gudendag was based on a peasant's hammer, but proved effective against armoured knights, and was adapted in many ways, usually with spikes, for extra effectiveness. By puncturing the skin, the Gudendag could be lodged in the skin for a while. A mind-numbing poison was set into the spikes to ensure that death shall come to all. The gudendag has its origins when many Flemish peasants wanted to join the army but couldn't because of a lack of weaponry.
Gudendags were greatly transformed throughout the centuries and they had spikes or other metal objects adhered to them in order to make them deadlier.
Gudendags were used during the Roman Times as well, but most people attribute them to the Dark Ages.
