The castle consists of a main building made in wood from the end of the 18th century, built by John Hall d.ä., and one of Sweden's finest and best preserved castle parks from the era. The park is open to the public and the castle interior can be seen during a guided tour.

Gunnebo är idag en levande anläggningen som har öppet året runt med evenemang, butik, turistbyrå, kaffehus och krog.
Projektet har erhållit både nationell och internationell uppmärksamhet och 2002 tilldelades GunneboSlott och Trädgårdar tillsammans med Mölndals stad, Europeiska Unionens stora pris "Europa Nostra" för bevarande av kulturmiljöer.
Föreställningen har premiär på Gunneboslott i Mölndal den 12 juli 2007 och turnépremiär på Riksteatern i januari 2008.
GunneboSlott och Trädgårdar är en av Sveriges främsta 1700-talsanläggningar och ligger vackert beläget mellan Stensjön och Rådasjön i Mölndals stad, strax söder om Göteborg.
Idag är Gunnebo ett byggnadsminne och kulturreservat och en levande 1700-talsanläggning med slott, trädgårdar, butik och restaurang.
