Guo Jia was discovered by Cao Cao during his attacks on Yuan Shao, and was immediately taken into service. Guo Jia provided many great plans, but while Cao Cao was conquering the desert tribes to which Yuan Tan had escaped, Guo Jia died of an illness. Cao Cao was incredibly grieved, and mourned the death of his trusted companion. Guo Jia was buried honourably with many sacrifices.
When Cao Cao was fleeing after Red Wall he told Cheng Yu that if Guo Jia was still alive he would not have let him lose.
GuoJia, a native of Yingchuan, was a famous strategist under Cao Cao.
Yuan Shang and Yuan Xi fled to Gongsun Kang, the governor of Liao Dong.
GuoJia was a man of resourcefulness and Cao once said of him, "Guo is the only one who could wholey appreciate what is in my mind." During the expedition in the north, Guo caught a disease and died at the age of 38 soon after he got back to the capital.
GuoJia's theory basically tells us if there is some fissure within two parties, applying external pressure will bind them together tighter.
David@jujuflop commented (in GuoJia (ii))when this theory was applied to the Taiwan political situation today, that the parties at odd could also be PFP and KMT.
The Taiwan Civil Society letter quote in "GuoJia (ii)" is to some extent triggered by Bian's irresponsible (and lame) self-defense in front of the TV (and more so by DPP's complacency toward corruption), which was in turn forced by pan-Blue's recall motion.
