HMS Sheffield (24) was a Southampton class cruiser in the Royal Navy during the Second World War. She was part of Force H based in Gibraltar, and during that time she took part in the sinking of the German battleship Bismarck in 1941. The Town-class were a ten-ship class of light cruisers built in three distinct sub-classes, Southampton, Gloucester and Edinburgh classes respectively, each sub-class adding on further weaponry. ...
