Haarlemmerliede en Spaarnwoude (population: 5,556 in 2004) is a municipality in the north-western Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. The municipality covers an area of 21.08 kmē (of which 1.83 kmē water).


The municipality of Haarlemmerliede en Spaarnwoude includes the following towns, villages and townships: Haarlemmerliede, Halfweg, Penningsveer, Spaarndam, Spaarnwoude, Vinkebrug, and the Houtrak part of the recreation area Spaarnwoude.

De aanleg van het recreatiegebied Spaarnwoude heeft de gemeente van een vooral agrarische gemeenschap veranderd in een plek, waar ook stedelingen graag komen om te wandelen, fietsen, vissen, skeeleren, golfen, van de natuur genieten en te varen.
De industriegebieden van Halfweg en Spaarndam zijn zodanig in grootte toegenomen dat zij niet meer in een kenschets van de gemeente mogen ontbreken.
In 1963 en 1970 is een groot gedeelte van de Houtrakpolder overgegaan naar de gemeente Amsterdam.
