Halewood is a town (population c 22,000) in the Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley, Merseyside, England, situated to the south-east of Liverpool. The original Halewood Village is close to an area of new homes and sprawling estates.


Parts of Halewood struggle with high crime, anti-social behaviour, high unemployment levels and poor housing. To date, various attemps at regeneration of this area have been largely unsuccessful, mainly due to lack of investment. However, there is renewed hope with new plans for redevopment of the "Leathers Lane" shopping area, which was once the heart of the local community.
