Outback Bowl is an annual college football bowl game played at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. The bowl was first called the Hall of Fame Bowl from 1986 to 1994. The name "Outback" comes from the game's title sponsor, Outback Steakhouse.
The Bowl is organized by the Tampa Sports Authority and has contracts with the Southeastern Conference and the Big Ten. The minimum payout for a participating school is $2.75 million.
Performing at the Hollywood Bowl is regarded by many as an honor in itself, but the luminaries honored here are further distinguished by their induction in the Hollywood BowlHall of Fame.
Founded in 2000, the Hollywood BowlHall of Fame celebrates those consummate creators and performers, who, through their talent and effort, have established themselves as true superstars - with appearances on screen, stage, recordings, and at the Bowl - whose contributions to the arts have made them part of the fabric of American culture.
The Hollywood BowlHall of Fame was conceived on behalf of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association by Wayne Baruch and Charles F. Gayton.
The Green Bay Packers FAN Hall of Fame was initiated by the Packers and the Packer Hall of Fame, in conjunction with five corporate sponsors.
Finalists are chosen by the FAN Hall of Fame selection committee, comprised of members of the Packer Hall of Fame board and members of the Green Bay Packers' front office.
The honoree also is introduced during the Packer Hall of Fame induction dinner, held each July, and has his or her name displayed in a place of honor in the Packer Hall of Fame.
